About Laser Therapy
Low level laser therapy aims to bio stimulate. Because of the low power nature of low levels laser, the effects are biochemical and not thermal and cannot cause heating and thereby damage to living tissue. Four distinct effects are known to occur when using low level laser therapy:
A: Growth factor response within cells and tissue as a result of increased ATP and protein synthesis; Improved cell proliferation; Change in cell membrane permeability to calcium up-take.
B: Pain relief as a result of increased endorphin release; Increased serotonin; Suppression of nociceptor action.
C: Strengthening the immune system response via increasing levels of lymphocyte activity and through a newly researched mechanism termed photomodulation of blood.

D: Tender point stimulation.

Laser is an acronym of "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation".
What Lasers Do
Stimulate vasodilation to increase blood flow and circulation to an area
Stimulation of RNA and DNA
Increases the accumulation of prostaglandins in wounds to promote healing
Enhance fibroplosia and collagen synthesis
Enhance nucleic acid synthesis and cell division
Increase autoradiographic uptake of labeled uridine
Influences the incorporation of labeled thymidine into DNA
Increases ATP synthesis in the mitochondria by as much as 70%
Increases the T & B lymphocytes in people with a suppressed immune system
Promotes the formation of granulation tissue and traction wound strength
Stimulates the production of cartilage
Stimulates enkephalin and endorphins for pain control and nerve stimulation
Effects cell multiplication in the fission phase
Laser light is one pure color with a single, well defined wavelength and a powerful energy level. As a result, laser light penetrates deep into the skin/tissue layers and stimulates cellular energy. It also stimulates the release of natural, painkilling chemicals within the body.
